5 star hotels: The best for winter sun

5 star hotels are worth it. Fact. I say that from experience because whenever I can, I will try and stay in 5 star hotels, and I’ve loved every single one. I always get out and explore the country I’m in, but I also take travelling as an opportunity to destress, and from the service to the food, 5 star hotels are the perfect way to do so. The only thing that stops me is the cost, which is why I’m always on the lookout for deals.

Hotels.com is one of my go-tos- as part of their Rewards scheme, they offer one night free for every 10 nights stayed. If you become a Hotels.com member, you’ll also get access to their ‘Secret Prices’ which can get you up to 40% off hotels- I booked my stay at one of Sorrento’s top 5 star hotels The Grand Hotel Angiolieri and paid 30% less thanks to their ‘Secret Prices’. In light of all this then, I’ve picked the very best 5 star hotels to book on Hotels.com for some winter sun, and listed them from the cheapest to the most expensive. I promise you’ll have the BEST time whichever you choose.

This post is in partnership with Hotels.com and all imagery has been supplied by the organisation. All opinions are my own.

Abu Dhabi is the new Dubai. Everyone’s going (it’s on my list too), and it’s not hard to see why- it’s just as opulent as Dubai, but a little more affordable. The Rosewood has 5 restaurants, spa, pool and gym.

Based in Oman, The Chedi Muscat is just a 7 hour flight away from London and is honestly jaw-dropping. I’ve wanted to stay here forever- it’s got a private beach, 6 restaurants, a spa, 3 pools, 2 tennis courts- literally everything you can think of.

The St Regis Bora Bora

St Regis Bora Bora

This is the most expensive of the lot, but if you want a holiday to remember, this is the one. Think the Maldives but better- a private beach, free cabanas, 5 restaurants, spa, and possibly the greatest breakfast you’ll ever taste.

Cost: £769 per night for a Beachside Villa sleeping 4 people in January 2018.

Special prices vary.

Honestly, whether you go for the most affordable or the most expensive, you have my word you’ll have the BEST time. I’ve stayed in some pretty luxurious places, but this lot looks even better.
