11 Wardrobe Staples Every Woman Should Own

wardrobe staples

I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s totally, utterly broke right now, am I? I mean, it’s December, it’s Christmas and there’s still so many clothes to buy. Yep, it’s near impossible for me to go Christmas shopping without buying something for myself, but after realising I couldn’t even afford a bottle of water on the way home last night, I’ve decided it HAS to stop. This post then, is all about staples.

I’ve actually got quite a few, but I forget how easy it is to create whole new looks out of them. As far as wearability goes, colour is key. (If you’ve read this post, you’ll know this applies to my entire wardrobe). Anything black, nude, white or grey will work just as well as a base for a statement centerpiece as they will on their own. I went for all black e’rrythang (did I just say that?), and a bold, edgy Zara skirt.

The skirt cost £29.99, while the roll neck, OTK boots and tights are all things I’ve had in my wardrobe since 2kForever. That’s a lie, my boyfriend bought me the boots two years ago, but you get the point. I actually debated between the new Zara skirt and a black flippy number I’ve had since I was 15 (I’m now 23), so I could’ve made the whole outfit for absolutely nada, but I couldn’t resist the kilt style and leather studs.

What I’m trying to say is that, no matter how poor you are right now, you can almost definitely recreate brand new looks out of things you already own. So if you’re not already invested in a few wardrobe staples, here’s a list of my top 11, most timeless pieces and the best to buy now:
